Development and Enhancement of Localized Networks to Optimize the Delivery of Spinal Cord Injury Care in Canada

To promote implementation and adoption of SCI evidence at the regional/provincial level, RHI is requesting applications for initiatives that will lead to strong localized networks that engage various SCI stakeholders and relevant organizations to facilitate and champion practice and policy changes to optimize the local delivery of care for people with SCI in Canada.
The total amount available for this competition is $75,000 CDN. Up to 3 awards will be funded, each for a maximum duration of 1 year and to a maximum award amount of $25,000.

Advancing the Evidence and Implementation of Activity-Based Therapy to Enhance Neuro-restoration in Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury

RHI is launching an open call on activity-based therapy (ABT) in order to increase evidence in this field to support implementation of ABT protocols across the SCI continuum.
The total amount available for this competition is $300,000 CDN. Up to 3 projects will be funded, each for maximum 24 months.

Canada India SCI Innovation Award – Getting Solutions to Market
Deadline for Letters of Intent: Monday, October 15, 2018
The Rick Hansen Institute is pleased to partner with IC-IMPACTS and Indian Spinal Injuries Centre to launch a grant competition to fund innovation and research in the treatment and care of people living with SCI and secondary complications in Canada and India.
This competition is the product of a partnership agreement between the three organizations announced in February 2018 by the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science and Sport in New Delhi.
An amount equivalent and up to CAD $50,000 will be granted to the successful proposal(s) for research and development. This amount may be supplemented by cash or in-kind support by host institutes or other agencies associated with the researchers.
This competition will seek to fund proposals from Canadian and Indian researchers in the deployment-ready stage of development related to spinal cord injury prevention and management. Pre-existing collaborations between Canadian and Indian researchers are not a requirement for a proposal submission. The partners in the competition will help identify and match collaborators.

Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation - Rick Hansen Institute research fund
RHI and the Ontario Neurotrama Foundation have announced new funding opportunities for research based in Ontario in the areas of urohealth, neuropathic pain and pressure injuries.
Funds are available to support projects up to a maximum of $150,000 over 3 years (i.e. $50,000 per year).

The Rick and Amanda Hansen Fellowship
In Partnership with the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation and the Rick Hansen Institute
In partnership, the University of Toronto, the Rick Hansen Institute and the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation are pleased to provide a two-year postdoctoral fellowship made possible by the support of the Government of Ontario.
The fellowship provides an annual stipend of $75,000, including benefits, for a term of two years. One fellowship will be awarded. The two-year term will begin January 1, 2019.
