Did you know that RHI’s Consumer Program provides funding to community groups to support quality of life initiatives within BC? 

Since 2010, the Government of BC has provided RHI with $11 million, of which $4.2 million funding over seven years supports the BC Spinal Cord Injury Community Services Network (BC SCI CSN). The BC SCI CSN is comprised of five community-focused, non-profit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of over 12,000 British Columbian’s with spinal cord injury, as well as people with other disabilities, and their families. What is SCIRE?

Supported by the Rick Hansen Institute , the Spinal Cord Injury Research Evidence (SCIRE) project is dedicated to providing up-to-date, accurate information about the effects of health care for people with SCI. With a team of 80+ researchers, clinicians and trainees including members from RHI, the resources prepared by this team can be used to support informed decision-making by policy makers and healthcare providers alike.

Since the beginning of the project in 2009, SCIRE has accumulated a large following with an average of 110,000 website visitors each year from 41 countries.
